40 Developmental Assets
What are The 40 Developmental Assets?
According to the Search Institute, there are “40 common sense, positive experiences and qualities that help influence choices young people make and help them become caring, responsible adults.” These are the 40 Developmental Assets. These assets help to promote positive behavior as well as decrease the likelihood that young people will engage in high risk behaviors, such as the use and abuse of alcohol
and drugs.
To find out more about the 40 Developmental Assets and how YOU can make a difference in young people’s lives, go to the Search Institute’s website or contact Clay Counts Coalition.

The purpose of this training was to equip individuals and organizations in the community with tools, methods and resources that will enable them to interact with youth in positive ways.
